The eldest of 12 children of Perry Byers and Ruth Scarborough, , Finetta was the great-great-aunt of Jay Hannah, was born in Jackson Twp., Henry Co., IA on Aug 6, 1871 and married George Bunker (with whom she had 2 children: Ralph Waldo and Merle Roscoe) in Salem, IA on Oct 1, 1893.

She died on Aug 5, 1949 in Mt. Pleasant, Henry Co., Iowa.

Nettie M. Bunker

Nettie M. Bunker was born August 6, 1871, on a farm in Jacksontownship, Henry County, Iowa and passed from this life August 5, 1949 atMemorial Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

She was the eldest of twelve children born to Perry and Ruth ScarboroByers. Her parents , four sisters, Rose, Celesta, Margaret, Florence;three brothers, Orrie, Alfred, Floyd, and one great grandson, Randall B.Topp preceded here in death.

She grew to womanhood on the farm of her birth and on October 1, 1893,was united in marriage to George W. Bunker of the same neighborhood. Tothis union were born two sons, Ralph W. Salem and Merle R. of Radcliffe,Iowa.

The entire fifty five years of her married life were spent in thiscommunity on the farm of her husbands birth.

She was an active charter member of the Donaldson Chapel Ladies Aid.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, three granddaughters, DelphaGeene Drummond, Ft. Madison; Marvolee Hinkle, Mt. Pleasant and KareneTopp, Radcliffe, Iowa, and one great grandson, Robert Lee Hinkle jr.Others surviving are two sisters, Ms. Hattie Striebe, Long View,Washington; Mrs. Zelpha Hannah, of Mt. Pleasant and two brothers, Harveyof Evert, Washington, and Leonard of Beloit, Wisconsin. Along withthese, a host of friends and relatives are left to mourn her passing.

Funeral services were conducted by Stevens Funeral Home Salem, onSunday Aug. 7 at 2 p. m. in Salem Methodist church with Jay N. Watermanof the Cong'l. church in charge.

Mrs. Gordon Watts sang two numbers accompanied by Mrs. Leah Beery.Pallbearers were nephews, Verl Byers, Harold Byers, Vernon Byers, LelandByers, Wilbur Annear and Ben Hannah. Burial was in the friends Cemeteryat Salem, Iowa.
