The 5th of 9 children of John Hannah and Catherine Seton, , Sarah was the three times great-aunt of Jay Hannah, was born in Henry Co., Jackson Twp on Nov 4, 1864 and married George Pickard (with whom she had 5 children: Catherine, Frank Leslie, James Owen, Harlan Evan Dewey and Jennie Hannah Myrtle) in Henry Co., Iowa, USA on Nov 26, 1885.
She died in Henry Co. on May 13, 1958.

CELEBRATED EIGHTY - EIGHTH BIRTHDAY
Last Thursday Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Pickard's home was the scene of ahappy and social gathering in honor of Grandma Hannah who lives withthem, it being her 88th birthday.
Four generations were present - her four children, twelvegrandchildren, twelve great- grandchildren; two grandchildren and fivegreat - grandchildren were unable to be present.
Those present were , Miss Katharine at home, Mr. and Mrs. FrankHannah, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hannah, Mrs. J. R. Hannah , Marcia andBennie; Mr .and Mrs. Robert Hannah, Mr .and Mrs. Leo Hannah and sonMarlo, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hunting, Mr .and Mrs. Harry McDowell andfamily, Mrs. Sarah McDowell, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Pickard and family, Mr.and Mrs. Dewey Pickard and baby Marguerite of Morning Sun, Mr. J. W.Hannah, Misses Belle and Esther; Mrs. Sam Walker and baby Viola, Mrs.Matt. Hickenbottom and son James. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Pickard, bothofwhom teach school at Stockport, came overly after school and spent theevening.
The fine dinner was served cafeteria style as each had come bringingwell- filled baskets.
Everyone enjoyed the day, departing wishing Grandma many more happybirthdays.
