The child of John Byers and Mary Daily, , Cordelia was the three times great-aunt of Jay Hannah, was born in Huntington, IN on Jun 8, 1846 and married James McIntosh (with whom she had 6 children: George William, Mary Ellen, Ida May, John Alexander, Elizabeth "Lizzie" and Clara Belle) in Salem, IA on Apr 18, 1867.

She died on Mar 29, 1924 in Hays, Kansas.

MRS CORDELIA McINTOSH

Mrs. Cordelia McIntosh was born in Huntington County, Ind., June 8,1846; moved with her parents to Henry County, Kansas; April 20, 1879;died March 29, 1924, aged 77 years, 9 months and 21 days. She issurvived by her husband and five children, George McIntosh, Alex McIntoshand Mrs. R. F. Joy of Buckeye township. Mrs. John O'Loughlin and Mrs.George Balls of Hays; also two brothers, Hiram W. Byers of Hays and PerryByers of Salem, Iowa; 41 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Mr.and Mrs. McIntosh lived on a farm in Buckeye township for many yearslater moving to Hays where they built a comfortable home in the northwestpart of the city. Mrs. McIntosh was a faithful wife and mother and willlong be remembered in the community for her fine spirit of hospitalityand readiness to lend a helping hand in sickness and sorrow. Funeralservices were held at St. Michael's Episcopal church, and interment inMount Allen cemetery.
