The 5th of 8 children of Hiram Stark and Elizabeth Schlief, , Henry was the great-grandfather of Jay Hannah, was born in Jefferson Co., Iowa on Jul 20, 1893 and married Edith (Idet) Tekla Johnson (with whom he had 2 children: Henry Harley , Jr and Macil Marine) in Jefferson Co. on Mar 25, 1914.

He died on Jul 1, 1964 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.
