The child of (John) Charles Grimes and Barbara Frank, , Christina was the 5 times great-grandmother of Jay Hannah, was born in Rowan Co., North Carolina on Nov 26, 1792 and married (Teis) Matthias Sappenfield (with whom she had 15 children: Jacob, Absolom, Huber, Andrew, Mathias, Mariah B, Sarah, Eliza E, Christina, Felix, John M, Mathias, Charles W, Eusebuis Marion and Aurelia) in Rowan Co. on Aug 25, 1811.

She died on Jul 31, 1858 in Parke Co., Indiana1.

Christena's stone is in a farm field in Lutheran cemetery Parke County,Indiana the email of a photocopy of a picture of the stone shows it asbroken in half. (John Trent sent me the email) I was unable to makeconnections with the owner of the farm while I was in Parke Countyalthough I have since written him to ask about the cemetery.

The stone seems to read ( the image is very hard to read)
