Anna Pearl Denney (née Collins) 1875 - 1957

The 4th of 7 children of William Collins and Rachel Bunker, , Anna was the first cousin three-times-removed on the father's side of Jay Hannah, was born in Jackson Twp., Henry Co., IA on Nov 12, 1875 and married Alfred James 'Allie' Denney (with whom she had 9 children: Edwin Lee, Lela Ellen, Elbert Clifton, Florence Orra, Harry Allen, Hugh Bernard, Frances May, Rachel Hannah and Frank Alfred) in Nr. Salem, Iowa on Jun 18, 1895.

She died on Mar 20, 1957 in Marengo, Iowa Co., IA.

Married

A very pleasant affair occured at the residence of W.E. Collins inJackson township, at high noon Tuesday, June 15th. It was the occasionof the marriage of his daughter, Pearl, to Alfred J. Denney of Leecounty, T.S. Pool, of Salem, officiated.

About 75 guests were present, all of whom are willing to witnessthat a very excellent dinner wasserved. Many useful and valuablepresents were left with the newly wedded pair.

In connection with the above was celebrated the wooden wedding ofWm. and Elma Bond. Quite a number of useful articles made of wood werepresented, while Mr. Owen Garretson capped the climax by presenting toMr. Bond, a pair of wooden shoes , of genuine Holland specie,manufactured expressly for the occasion.
