OBITUARY
Anna Mary, daughter of Allen and Rhoda Hiatt, was born 2nd mo., 3 rd, 1835, in Randolph Co., Indiana, and died 9th mo., 16th, 1906.
She removed with her parents to Salem, Iowa in 1852. In 1858 she was married to Isaac T. Gibson. To them was born seven children, Sarah, Allen H., John Milton, Mary Elma, Anna Maria, Thos. Embree and Nopa-wal-la, of whom Allen H. and Thos. Embree are living, and were present at the burial.
Her life abounded in he fruit of the Spirit, namely: "Love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance." In the strenuous work of her husband for the Freedmen, Indians, Peace and Prohibition she was a hopeful and courageous helpmeet. Her late ten years of invalidism proved the keeping power of Divine grace.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Friends church conducted by Rev. Melvin Smith, assisted by his wife, Rev's Clark and Michener, after which interment was made in Friends cemetery.
