THOMAS EMBREE GIBSON
Thomas Embree Gibson was born northwest of Salem on June 24, 1896,the son of Isaac and Anna Gibson. He went with his parents and family to Indian territory now Oklahoma by covered wagon. At this time he wasonly 3 years old.
He returned to Iowa when a young man and went to Wesleyan college in Mt. Pleasant. After completing college, he returned to Oklahoma with his brother, Allen, where he was married to Louisa Gale. To this union a daughter, now Margaret Gibson Liddell was born.
The remainder of his life was spent in Oklahoma, except for a few later years spent on his old homesite near Salem. He is survived by his daughter and a bother Allen.
Funeral services were held in the Friend's church, the pastor Rev. Arthur Moon officiating. Music was by Mrs. Ethel Garretson and burial was in the Friends cemetery. Pall bearers were Allie Hodson, Ray Davidson, John McMasters, A. J. Lee, Jess Friend and J. W. Moxley.
