When I read the messages on this link and saw the resulting code, my first
thought was "Gheesh, .Net is about 2-3 times more line count than Perl."

I cut my teeth first on Assembly (~1980), then Pascal(~1981), back-tracked
through Basic(~1983), went back to Pascal, got into C in college(1989),
and finally picked up Perl(~1996).

I have to say that I've really got spoiled by the language just knowing
what I want to do with with the data and not having to explain to it that
"X is an integer, Y is a floating point, and Z is a string of characters."
:)
