The 5th of 8 children of Grover Long and Luella Miller, , Vivian was the great-aunt of Jay Hannah, was born in Salem, IA, USA on Feb 14, 1927. She married Robert McDowell in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, USA on Jun 6, 1949.
She died on Apr 4, 1970 in Hinsdale, IL and was buried in Salem East Cemetery after Apr 4, 1970.

MRS. VIVIAN MCDOWELL
Mrs. Vivian Long McDowell, 43, of Metaline Falls,Wash., died Saturdayat 1:20 p.m. at the Hinsdale Hospital in Hinsdale, Ill. She had made herhome with her sister, Mrs. Erma Serles of Hinsdale, during her illness.
The daughter of Jay and Luella (Miller) Long was born at Salem on Feb.14, 1927.
On June 6, 1949 she was married to Robert McDowell in Mt. Pleasant.
Mrs. McDowell attended Iowa Wesleyan College, Iowa State University,and received her B. S. degree from Walla Walla College at College Place,Wash. She had been teaching in Pend Cielle County School system inWashington .
Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Luella Long, four sisters, and twobrothers, Mrs. Erma Serles, Hinsdale, Ill., Mrs. Don (Dorothy) Watson,Heyburn, Idaho, Mrs. Hjalmar (Jean) Monson, Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Conrad(Liberta) Taylor, Roseville, Ill., Robert J. Long, Keosauqua and HaroldE. Long, New Orleans, La., nephew and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her father and one sister Doris Ellen.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Beatty-FosterFuneral Chapel in Salem. Rev. Gordon Hewlett of the Seventh DayAdventist Church officiated.
Interment, Salem East Cemetery.
