ROYAL P. BOGUE
Relatives receive word of the death of Royal P. Bogue of Hartford,Iowa, which occurred at his home Monday night after several weeks'illness.
The deceased was born northeast of Salem and attended Whittier collegeform which he graduated. He was are retired minister at the time ofhisdeath and was fifty-six years of age. Besides his wife he is survived byone sister, Mrs. Minnie Trueblood northwest of Salem, one brother, Walterin California, two half brothers and two half sisters.
At the time this notice as received the arrangements for the funeralservices had not been completed. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Trueblood leftTuesday afternoon for Hartford.

Royal P. Bogue, son of Joseph D. and Hannah Roberts Bogue was bornsouth of Salem in Henry county, Iowa April 19, 1877 and lived in andnearSalem all of his early life. He was a graduate of Whittier collegeformerly located at Salem and in the class of 1903 and also attendedPenncollege at Oskaloosa, Iowa some two years or more. He taught schoolfora while in Henry county and later at Chapel, Mo. Friends academy and fora number of years in Mahaska county, Iowa.
Roy was a birthright member of Friends society and was always ofhonest, upright conscientious character and gave his heart to God inearly years. He was very much interested in the Christian Endeavorsociety of young people and he joined this society the second year of itsorganization in Salem.
He was married to Phyanna Mendenhall, June 24, 1909 in Leighton,Mahaska county, Iowa. In 1913 he took up his first pastoral charge,wasrecorded a minister in the Friends church and continued actively in thework for a period of then years. In 1923 he moved to Hartford, Iowa,where he has since resided. There being no Friends church in that placehe ahs helped in whatever way he could in the church there.
He became ill in February altho' able to be about much of the timeuntil April. Everything was done that could be but after weeks ofintense suffering, patiently borne, he quietly fell asleep at his homeabout nine p.m. June 5, 1933 and passed through the doorway into God'sother room at the age of 56 years, 1 month and 19 days.
Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church in Hartford at2:00 p.m. Thursday June 8, 1933 conducted by Rev. M. T. Mendenhall,superintendent of Iowa Yearly Meeting at Oskaloosa, Iowa. Rev.Mendenhall spoke fittingly from 2nd Timothy 4-6 to 8 verses, emphasizingparticularly on the seventh verse, "I have fought a good fight, I havefinished my course, I have kept the faith." A mixed quartet sang verylovely the songs of "Face to Face," "Abide With Me," and "In the Garden."Interment in Graceland cemetery at Knoxville.
He is survived by his wife, the following sisters, and brothers, MinnieB. Trueblood, Mt. Pleasant, Ia. Walter Bogue, Ramona, Calif. FritzL.Valeen, Kansas City; Neva I. Tompson, Holly, Colo. Beda E. White,Bristol, Colo. Henry P. Bogue, Indianapolis, Ind. Lee O. Bogue,Southgate, Calif., and other relatives and many friends who sincerelymourn his passing.
