The 6th of 11 children of William Hiatt and Charity Williams, Ruth was the five times great-aunt of Jay Hannah, was born in Guilford Co. , NC on Jan 28, 1784. She married Jesse Stanley in New Garden MM, Guilford Co., NC on Jan 6, 1802.

She died on Jun 15, 1830 in Guilford Co. .
