NELLIE HANNAH BUNKER

Nellie Hannah Detrick, daughter of Edward and Salina Detrick, was bornnear New London, Iowa September 8, 1882 and died at the Memorialhospital, Mt. Pleasant, Friday morning, January 11, 1952 after having hadpoor health for about three years. She was 69 years, 3 months and 5daysold.

She was married to Clarence Bunker, Dec. 31, 1900. To this union onedaughter, Leah, who was married to Stacy Lampe, was born. She waspreceded in death by her father and mother, two brothers, and two sistersdying in infancy.

Clarence and Nellie Bunker celebrated their 50th wedding anniversarylastyear, which was a happy occasion.

Nellie spent most of her life in Henry county. She was always busywith her home duties, but found time to do many acts of kindness to thosewhom she loved, lending a helping hand whenever she could. She willbegreatly missed by all her lived ones and many friends.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Clarence Bunker, and herdaughter Leah, both of Salem; 2 sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Higgerson,Muscatine, and Mrs. Amie Wilson, Louisville, Kentucky, and one brotherTed Detrick of Lowell, besides several nieces and nephews and manyfriends.

A very large number of relatives and friends attended the funeralservices held in the Congregational church Sunday afternoon. The Rev.Jay N. Waterman officiated and the songs, "Beautiful Isles of Somewhere"and "Ivory Palaces" were sung by Mrs. Grace Kasper accompanied by Mrs.Leah Beery. Bearers were Ollie Kurse, Carl Hummell, Ernie Blair, VerneGlover, Harry Moeller and Maurice Hourihan. Interment was in the SalemCemetery.
