Winifred Hunting
M. Winifred Hunting, 80, of rural Mount Pleasant, died at 6:10 a.m.Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.
Born Aug. 13, 1918, in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of Leo F. andAlice Burns Scott. On Feb. 15, 1941, she married Robert M. Hunting inMount Pleasant. He died June 7, 1986.
Mrs. Hunting was a 1936 graduate of St. Alphonsus Catholic High School,Mount Pleasant. She worked with her husband on the family farm all herlife.
She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Mount Pleasant,thechurch Altar and Rosary Society and Harlan Questors.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Swanson of Dillon, Colo. one son,Leo L. Hunting of rural Mount Pleasant; seven grandchildren; fivegreat-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jean Beavers of Mount PleasantandAnna Lee Scott of Cedar Rapids.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, onegranddaughter, two brothers, three sisters and twin infant sisters.
The family will receive friends following a 7 p.m. prayer service todayin the gathering area of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church until 8:30 p.m.
The funeral Mass for Mrs. Hunting will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St.Alphonsus Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery,Mount Pleasant.
Memorials have been established to St. Alphonsus Building Fund, MountPleasant Public Library and Henry County Cancer Fund.
