The 5th of 7 children of Johannes Andersson and Lovisa Lonnerberg, , Svante was the great-great-grandfather of Jay Hannah, was born in Karthemmet farm, Hossna, Elfsborgs, Vastergotland, Sweden on Jul 22, 1843 and married Fredricka Anderson (with whom he had 9 children: Carl Adolph, John Albert, Charley Robert, Hendrick Edvard, Maria Zeraphia, Wilhelm Solomen, Anna Lovina, Otto Picard and Edith (Idet) Tekla) in Rock Island, Illinois on Aug 29, 1868.

He died on Jun 23, 1899 in Jefferson Co., Iowa1.
