Salem News Sept. 22, 1921
"BARN BURNED
The large new barn on the Clyde Bunker farm was struck by lightning during the storm Tuesday night and completely destroyed by fire. All the horses were saved but one dog ran back into the flames and was lost. This was a new barn, just built. It is a wonder we don't have more fires, with almost daily thunder storms we are having lately."
"Mr. Bunker informs us the loss on his barn was nearly covered by insurance."
