Sounds like a plan.

-nod-  You might find your development efforts hindered if your development environment is missing bits. But you can always see how it goes and adjust as needed.

I know a couple developers who do all their development from an iPad with a bluetooth keyboard -- but they're merely using the tablet to ssh TO Linux servers and develop there. I've not heard of anyone actually doing development ON a tablet. Any tablet with a keyboard (iOS (iPad), Android, Windows) should be fine for ssh'ing to a development server.
