Born Oct. 15, 1903, in Henry County, she was the daughter of Macey andMinnie Hummell Hockett. On April 20, 1939, she married Nels Barr. HediedJan. 11, 1956.
Mrs. Barr enjoyed canning, sewing, playing the organ, quilting and makingrugs. She also loved the farm and the work involved.
Survivors include one daughter, Orvilla Barr of Sunrise Terrace CareCenter; one niece; seven nephews; three stepgrandchildren; ninestepgreatgrandchildren; and numerous stepgreatgreatgrandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one infantson and several sisters.
Open visitation will be from 2 p.m. today until the time of serviceWednesday at Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.
The funeral for Mrs. Barr will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Beatty FuneralHome, with Pastor Tom Palmer of Salem Friends Church officiating. Burialwill be in Forrest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.
