Eula Knight
Eula B. Knight, 92, of Charleston, died at 9:10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27,1999, at Fort Madison Community Hospital.
Born Feb. 16, 1907, at Charleston, she was the daughter of James M. andMary Belle McMillan Barnes. On June 19, 1932, she married Robert M.Knight in Fort Madison. He died Feb. 13, 1983.
Mrs. Knight was a graduate of Iowa Wesleyan College. She taught schoolfor 36 years in rural schools and later at Argyle Junior High SchoolandDonnellson Elementary School. She lived most of her life on a farm nearCharleston.
She was a member of the Charleston Cemetery Association, NationalEducation Association and Retired Teachers Association. She helpedcompile a book of Lee County rural schools.
Survivors include one son, Darrell Knight of Donnellson; one daughter,Lela Jean Kohl of Atkins; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren;and three great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, onedaughter and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Monday in Hofbauer Funeral Home inDonnellson, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Knight will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in HofbauerFuneral Home, with the Rev. Richard Bentzinger officiating. Burial willbe in the Montrose Cemetery in Montrose.
A memorial has been established for the Charleston Cemetery Association.
