She married Robert (with whom she has had 6 surviving children Sara Ellen, Edward Neal, Martha Ann, John Robert, Thomas Michael and James Edgar) in Mt. Pleasant, IA on Apr 14, 1940.

Esther E. Frary, 80, of Salem, died at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998,at University Hospitals in Iowa City.
Born Dec. 15, 1917, in Carthage, Ill., she was the daughter of John andHattie Lowry Waldmeier. On April 14, 1940, she married Robert Frary inMount Pleasant.
Mrs. Frary was a 1935 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. She and herhusband farmed east of Salem.
She was a member of Salem Congregational Church and an active memberofSalem Saddle Club.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Sara Miller of Bryan,Texas, and Martha Harshbarger of Inman, Kan. four sons, Neal Frary andJim Frary, both of Salem, John Frary of Cleveland, Ohio, and Tom Frary ofMount Pleasant; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother,Donald Waldmeier of Burlington; and one sister, Erma O'Neil of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Friday at Beatty Funeral Home in MountPleasant, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Frary will be at Salem Congregational Church inSalem with the Revs. Dave Legge and Tom Palmer officiating. Burial willbe in Salem East Cemetery in Salem.
Memorials have been established to Salem Congregational Church and SalemFirst Responders.
