The 7th of 12 children of William Stark and Rebecca Ragsdale, , Johnson was the four times great-uncle of Jay Hannah, was born in Parke Co., Indiana on Mar 8, 1837 and married Sophronia Dykes (with whom he had 11 children: Laura Ellen, Rebecca, Asa, Sarah E, Mary Elizabeth, Synthia Jane, Cassie Bell, Charles Simpson, Jesse Clarence, Ernest Fletcher and James Leroy (Roy)) in Parke Co. on Jun 20, 1858.
He died on Nov 11, 1887 in Cumberland Co, Illinois1 and was buried in Old Gordon (Thomas Lincoln) Cem after Nov 11, 18871.
