Roy F. Strieb, of North Bend, died in Bellevue on March 18 at the age of76 of cancer.

He was born in Lincoln, Neb., on April 18, 1923, the son of Fred andHarriet Strieb, and raised in Longview, Wash. He served his countryduring World War II in England and France. While in England, Roy metJoyce Baker and they were married on March 12, 1946. They returned toLongview and then moved to North Bend in 1959 where he worked forWeyerhaeuser Company for a total of 37 years. After retiring in 1986, Royworked for Loveland Chevrolet. He was an antique car enthusiastthroughout his life, and was a member of the Horseless Carriage ClubofAmerica and the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club. He was a member ofSnoqualmie United Methodist Church and the American Legion.

He is survived by Joyce, his wife of 54 years; five sons, John and hiswife Donna, of San Antonio, Tex. Chris and wife Patty, of Kent; David,of Auburn; Roger and wife Maureen, of Kirkland; Stephen and wife Lynae,of Spokane; six grandchildren, Lawrence, of San Antonio; Amy and Kate, ofKent; Jake of Kirkland; Jordan and Joshua, of Spokane; and brother Glenand wife Dee, of Klamath Falls, Ore.

A memorial service was held on March 21 at Snoqualmie United MethodistChurch in Snoqualmie. The Rev. Mary Brown officiated, assisted by theRev. Donna Strieb and the Rev. Earl Dean.

Memorials are suggested to Children's Hospital Medical Center or theSnoqualmie United Methodist Church.
