Mrs. Geo. Bunker was called to her brother, Linn Byers' near New LondonSaturday by the dangerous illness and death of his wife. Their manyfriends extend sympathy to the bereft family. Mrs. Byers has been agreat sufferer for many months.

OBITUARY.
Gertrude Amelia Beery, beloved wife of Leonard Byers, was born atSebastopol, Calif., July 6, 1876, died at her home at Linwood, Henrycounty, Iowa, April 7, 1923 aged 46 years, 8 months and 22 days.
During the winter months Mrs. Byers had been in failing health, yet hercondition was not considered serious. However, complications developedwhich bro't death very suddenly. The family were not expecting suchastroke.
When the late Mrs. Byers was four years of age, her mother died leavingher to the care of her cousins, "The Beery Sisters" with whom she madeher home until her marriage to Mr. Leonard Byers, which took place Dec.22, 1898.
Besides her husband she leaves to mourn their loss, two sons and fivedaughters. The sons are Perry J. and Walter both at home. The daughtersare: Ruth, in Chicago, Ill. Mrs. Ada Gehle of Ft. Madison, Mabel Leonaand Martha, at home.
The funeral was held in the Pleasant Hill church and her mortal remainslaid to rest in the cemetery beside the chruch. The services wereconducted by G. A. Jeffrey, pastor of the Church of Christ, at NewLondon, of which the deceased was a member. =BE New London Journal.
