Vera Eileen Stark, 80, of Mount Pleasant, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at her home.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Lambirth Cemetery, southwest of Mount Pleasant,
with Bill Maddy officiating. Friends wishing to sign the register book may do so from 9 a.m. to noon Friday
at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant. A memorial has been established in Mrs. Starks name.
Mrs. Stark was born Oct. 29, 1922, in Morning Sun, the daughter of Jesse Wilmer and Lura E. Payne Nelson.
She married Henry Harley Stark Jr. June 10, 1943, in Las Vegas. He preceded her in death Feb. 23, 1989.
Mrs. Stark and her husband farmed in Jefferson, Van Buren and Henry counties for more than 50 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, sewing, gardening and watching the many hummingbirds
she fed. She was a member of Farm Bureau and was one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include three sons, Larry M. Stark and wife Karen of Stockport, Dennis L. Stark and wife Phyllis of
Elko, Nev. and H. Steven Stark and wife Darlene of Harrisonville, Mo.; two daughters, Cheryl J. Giberson and
husband John of Mount Pleasant and Kandi L. Stark-Reeder and husband Geno of Lockridge; 17 grandchildren;
23 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lorna Payne of Mount Pleasant; and two brothers, Dorrel Nelson of Davenport
and Wayne Nelson of St. George Utah.
