Beulah Goldsmith, 86, of Salem, died Monday evening, June 2, 2003, at her home.
Born Jan. 19, 1917, near Salem, she was the daughter of Hanmer and Sylvia Litton Bailey. She first married Edward Watson. He died in 1950. On Jan. 6, 1951, she married Oliver Goldsmith.
Mrs. Goldsmith was a homemaker.
She was a member of Salem Congregational Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Loren Watson of Burlington; one daughter, Martha Watson Pratt of Salem; four grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence Bailey of Roland and Gary Bailey of Wilmore, Ky.; and two sisters, Ruth Hesseltine of Winfieldand Imogene Dorsey of Mount Pleasant.
Besides her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents,one brother and one sister.
Visitation will begin at noon today at Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Goldsmith will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Salem Congregational Church, with the Rev. Harold Dorsey officiating. Burial will be in Salem South Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Salem Congregational Church.
