Wilbur Ranck
Wilbur "Web" Louis Ranck, 79, of New London died at 3:54 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2005, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born June 8, 1925, in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of Roy Robert and Estella Fern Jarvis Ranck. On June 9, 1946, he married Ethel Pauline Pickard in Jefferson County.
Mr. Ranck was a lifelong farmer, retiring in 1994. He also was a salesman for Old Gold Seed corn. He worked at the Middletown Sales Barn for 20 years and at the Wayland and Wapello sales barns.
He was a graduate of Pleasant Lawn High School. He enjoyed gong to sales in Keosauqua.
Survivors include his wife; one son, James Leroy Ranck of Burlington; two daughters, Geraldine Marie Dickerson of Townsend, Tenn., and Penny Sue Smith of Danville; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
There will be no visitation. The body has been cremated according tohis wishes.
The memorial service for Mr. Ranck will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel in New London, with Pastor Sue Tomlinson officiating,
