OBITUARY
Mary Susannah Wilmeth, daughter of William and Esther Wilmeth was born at Salem, Iowa, January 15, 1857 and died at Lincoln Neb., May 10, 1931, aged 74 years, 3 mos. And 25 days.
Her last illness was of short duration, taken with acute indigestion and her heart wore itself out in the fight.
She was educated in the Salem schools and Whittier college and taught several years in Iowa schools.
Jan. 17, 1878 she was united in marriage to John W. Scarborough and bore him two sons, Fred of Lincoln, Neb. And Ray of Winona, Minn.
The family left Salem in 1884 and lived at Oxford, Neb. Until 1900when they moved to Lincoln where Mr. Scarborough died in 1922.
Mrs. Scarborough avowed her christian faith in early life and was an active member of St. James Methodist church and Chapter 148 O. E. S.
The last rites were given by her old friend and pastor Rev. Chenowith and the Past Matrons club of the Eastern Star.
She rests beside her husband in Wyela cemetery, Lincoln, Nebraska.
