Anna McVey
Anna L. McVey, 85, of Fort Madison, died at 7:35 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, at University Hospitals in Iowa City.
Born Dec. 29, 1913, in Deer Creek, Ill., she was the daughter of Carl F. and Freida Knapp Lay. On Dec. 15, 1950, she married Glenn E. McVey in St. Charles, Mo.
Mrs. McVey was a homemaker.
She enjoyed baking for institutionalized people, was an avid gardener and corresponded with many pen pals throughout the United States. She was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include her husband; one brother, Roy Lay of rural Donnellson; three sisters, Florence Lay of Donnellson, Luella Davis of Keota and Clara Ross of Mount Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister and one half brother.
Visitation will begin after noon Wednesday and until the time of service Thursday in King-Lynk Funeral Home in Fort Madison.
The funeral for Mrs. McVey will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in King-Lynk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will bein Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison.
