The Salem Weekly News June 5, 1919
Mr. and Mrs. George Kerr expect to soon welcome their son, Jesse home from Camp Dodge. He returned from overseas May 14th and has been confined to the hospital ever since having been gassed while in service, which affected his lungs and eyes, he being almost blind. He was in the same regiment with Vic Huxley and saw some hard fighting in the Argonne Woods district.
