L. A. (BERT) BUNKER
L. A. (Bert) Bunker was born in Jackson Township, Nov. 22, 1876 and passed away at Mercy Hospital Burlington, Iowa March 4 ,1957.
The son of William and Rosella Bunker, he spent his entire life inand around Salem, was a rural mail carrier for a number of years and served as clerk in Morrow's store.
He was married to Margaret Milligan Feb. 25, 1903. To this union,one daughter, Austa Elizabeth was born, who died in infancy.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret, 909 E. Monroe St., Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, three brothers, Clarence of Mt. Pleasant, Charles of Stockport, and Clyde of Salem, two sisters, Mrs. Florence Frary and Mrs. Elsie Harshbarger of Salem, a number of nieces and nephews and many friends.
Services were held at the Crane Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant March7, 1957 at 2 P. M.
Dr. James W. Marlin, pastor of the First Methodist Church officiated. Mrs. Virginia Bonser was organist Sam Ewart soloist.
Pallbearers were Robert Frary, Harold Harshbarger, Jared Hills, Kent Hills, Stacey Lampe, and Robert Nicholson.
Interment was in Salem cemetery, Salem, Iowa.
