ELMER U. WRIGHT
The Stevens funeral home was filled with a large number of relatives and friends who came to attend the funeral services of Elmer Wright,held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Wright was a good neighbor and friend and those of his community were in attendance at the services. He also had a large circle of friends in Salem whom he visited when coming to town.
The three songs, "Abide With Me," "Grace Greater than My Sins," and "Abide With Me," were sung by Rev. and Mrs. Robert B. Rubart, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. H. C. Garretson.
Elmer Ulysses Wright, son of George and Eliza Wright, was born in Henry county, Iowa, March 5, 1864 and died January 14, 1937 at the age of 72 years, 10 mon. and 9 days. On April 3, 1899 he was united in marriage with Alda Maria Armer, who preceded him in death 15 years ago. To this union, two children were born, George E. Wright, living at home withhis father, and Mrs. Inez Wright Litzenberg of Chicago Ill. Besides these there remains a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss.
Interment was in the Cedar Friends cemetery in his home community northwest of Salem and pall bearers were Sidney Smith, Carlos Trueblood, Ed Breazeale, Howard Brown, Lawrence mills and James Mills.
