Nathan Hockett has sold his land, some seventy two acres in center township, to John Livix, of near Glasgow, and will give possession of it some time soon. The plans of Mr. Hockett for the future are not matured, and he may go away and he may locate here. He is the father of Clayton Hockett, who is now on trial for rape in the district court.

OBITUARY
Nathan H. Hockett, son of Edward and Betsy Hockett, was born Feb. 11, 1848 near Salem, Ia. and died Feb. 12, 1926 at Cheyenne, Wyoming aged 78 years and one day.
He was married to Abigail J. Macy, May 23, 1867. To this union three children were born, Mrs. M. J. Truebood of Studley, Kas., Macy S. ofMt. Pleasant, Ia. and Clayton E. of Marshalltown, Ia. His wife died Oct. 31, 1899. On Dec. 25, 1901 he was married to Elizabeth Hughes, at Mt. Pleasant, Ia., who with his children sixteen grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, and many relatives and friends mourn his departure.
He was the twelfth child of his parents, and the last to depart this life. He was a birthright member of the Friends church, was converted at the early age of 15, remaining a faithful member until after his marriage, then his membership was transferred to the M.E. church, and later after his second marriage he united with the Baptist church.
He was a devoted christian, a kind and jovial man who made and retained many friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Hoxie, Kas., near which place had been his home for a number of years. - Hoxie (Kas.) Sentinel.
