Roy F. Strieb
Passed away, March 18, 2000.
Roy F. Strieb, of North Bend, died in Bellevue on March 18 at the age of 76 of cancer.
He was born in Lincoln, Neb., on April 18, 1923, the son of Fred and Harriet Strieb, and raised in Longview, Wash. He served his country during World War II in England and France. While in England, Roy met Joyce Baker and they were married on March 12, 1946. They returned to Longview and then moved to North Bend in 1959 where he worked for Weyerhaeuser Company for a total of 37 years. After retiring in 1986, Roy worked for Loveland Chevrolet. He was an antique car enthusiast throughout his life, and was a member of the Horseless Carriage Clubof America and the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club. He was a member of Snoqualmie United Methodist Church and the American Legion.
He is survived by Joyce, his wife of 54 years; five sons, John and his wife Donna, of San Antonio, Tex.; Chris and wife Patty, of Kent; David, of Auburn; Roger and wife Maureen, of Kirkland; Stephen and wife Lynae, of Spokane; six grandchildren, Lawrence, of San Antonio; Amy and Kate, of Kent; Jake of Kirkland; Jordan and Joshua, of Spokane; and brother Glen and wife Dee, of Klamath Falls, Ore.
A memorial service was held on March 21 at Snoqualmie United Methodist Church in Snoqualmie. The Rev. Mary Brown officiated, assisted by the Rev. Donna Strieb and the Rev. Earl Dean.
Memorials are suggested to Children's Hospital Medical Center or the Snoqualmie United Methodist Church.
