Mrs. Geo. Bunker was called to her brother, Linn Byers' near New London Saturday by the dangerous illness and death of his wife. Their many friends extend sympathy to the bereft family. Mrs. Byers has been a great sufferer for many months.

Gertrude Amelia Beery, beloved wife of Leonard Byers, was born at Sebastopol, Calif., July 6, 1876, died at her home at Linwood, Henry county, Iowa, April 7, 1923 aged 46 years, 8 months and 22 days.
During the winter months Mrs. Byers had been in failing health, yet her condition was not considered serious. However, complications developed which bro't death very suddenly. The family were not expecting sucha stroke.
When the late Mrs. Byers was four years of age, her mother died leaving her to the care of her cousins, "The Beery Sisters" with whom she made her home until her marriage to Mr. Leonard Byers, which took place Dec. 22, 1898.
Besides her husband she leaves to mourn their loss, two sons and five daughters. The sons are Perry J. and Walter both at home. The daughters are: Ruth, in Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Ada Gehle of Ft. Madison, Mabel Leona and Martha, at home.
The funeral was held in the Pleasant Hill church and her mortal remains laid to rest in the cemetery beside the chruch. The services were conducted by G. A. Jeffrey, pastor of the Church of Christ, at New London, of which the deceased was a member. =BE New London Journal.
