THELMA D. SMITH
Thelma D. Smith, 85, of 290 Westminster Canterbury Drive, Winchester, formerly of Arlington and Fairfax, died Thursday at her home.
The funeral will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, in Winchester. A graveside service will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at National Memorial Park in Falls Church.
Mrs. Smith was born in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. She was employed by the National Park Service as a costumer and demonstrator at Arlington House and Sully Plantation in Fairfax. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Arlington and president of the PEO Sisterhood. She was thewife of the late Dale H. Smith.
Surviving are two sons, Barry W. Smith of Winchester and Kevin L. Smith of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Janet S. Hamner of Rock Cave, W.Va.;two sisters, Darlene Nevins of Warner, N.H., and Carol E. Slach of West Branch, Iowa; three brothers, Vernon F. Byers of West Branch, Cleo C. Byers of Los Alamos, N.M., and Leland F. Byers of McAllen, Texas; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
