Mrs. Maude Byers
Taken By Death
Mrs. Winona Maude Byers, 76, died Tuesday at the Millspaugh Nursing Home where she had been for the past week.
She was born February 1, 1884 in Jackson Township, the daughter of Nathan P. Nicholson and Florabelle (Prottsman) Nicholson.
She was married to Alfred Byers on June 23, 1909, was a resident of Salem all of her life, and a member of the Congregational church.
Mrs. Byers was predeceased by her husband on October 11, 1941 and one son Verle Byers on May 5, 1951, and also by her parents and one brother.
She is survived by one brother, Russell Nicholson of Hillsboro.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Waterman Funeral Home in Salem. The Rev. Robert Penrod will officiate.
Burial will be in the Salem South cemetery.

SALEM- Funeral services for Winona Maude Byers were held Friday, Dec. 2, at the Waterman Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Penrod officiated. Burial was in the Salem South cemetery.
Winona Maude Byers was born Feb. 1, 1884 in Jackson township and departed this life Nov. 28, 1960 at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 27 days. She was the daughter of Nathan P. and Flora Belle (Prottsman) Nicholson.
She was united in marriage to Alfred Byers on June 23, 1909. To this union was born one son, Verle.
Mrs. Byers was a resident of the Salem vicinity all of her life and a member of the Congregational Church.
She was predeceased by her husband on Oct. 11, 1941, and by her son on May 5, 1951, also by her parents and one brother.
She is survived by one brother, Russell Nicholson of Hillsboro and several nieces and nephews.
