EBENEZER P. SEATON
Ebenezer P. Seaton was born in Shelby county, Ohio, Nov. 22, 1838and died in Brighton, Ia. May 18, '18, aged 79 years, 5 mos., 26 days. He was the son of Ebenezer and Barbara Bushman Seton, being the youngest of 13 children, all of whom preceded him in death except one sister, Mrs. Catharine Hannah who resides with her daughter near Mt. Pleasant. Three months before deceased's birth his father was killed in a well by damps. About one year later his mother moved with her fatherless children back to her old home in Clermont county, Ohio; here Mr. Seton spent the early days of his life. He moved to Henry county, Ia., about 1858 and was married to Miss Amanda Kester in 1866, who died in August 1886. To this union were born six children- - Mrs. Belle Statler of Brighton, Joseph, Edith, and Cora, who resided with their father; Ray of Little Rock, Ark, and Allen, deceased. He joined the Christian church 1910 and was an honest, upright and industrious man; always kind and loving to his family and leaves a large circle of friends and relatives to mourn his death.
